When running it with any version of Proton (6.3, 5...), the game starts on a black screen. Some lagging music is heard but the startup never progresses past that. With the latest version of Proton-GE and disabling ESYNC it works perfectly!
Fullscreen mode crashes
Updated to latest graphic card version and used VKD3D from Proton Experimental to get around the Shaders 6.6. unavailable error. Game only works with Low and Very Low graphic presets, and otherwise crashes due to insufficient memory. Also disabled V Sync and anti-aliasing.
Like someone said above, game didn't start so I renamed SpeechSynthesisWrapper.dll in the game folder/Pentiment data/Plugins. Once that is done, works flawlessly.
Slow and stuttery
Significant stuttering except with Low graphic settings
The game opens and works and I was able to play for five minutes. The cutscenes either don't work, or else load really slowly. On Low quality I was able to start the first quest, but it's very difficult to play. Still, the team has promised a patch in the near future, that should fix similar problems on Windows, so there is hope!
Works out of the box with the latest version of Proton
Works flawlessly. The loading video takes a bit of time to load, but it's not frozen, just loading. The graphics look a bit washed out but maybe it's my old system.
