Used the instructions on the following Youtube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQs-yiMg-gQ I tried to do a race with 7 bots(with max graphics settings/post processing turned off) but the FPS on Proton 5.0.10 was pretty shocking (around 40 fps) and random lag spikes. Changed it to Proton Experimental and ran much better experience (averaging 140 to 200 FPS).
Only on the main menu. In game, it ran full screen without any issues.
I have yet to test multiplayer online.
Better than expected and less stuttering compared to my Win 10 experience.
So far, it just works without any issues.
As I've been only using PopOS on my main laptop for a week, gaming on it has been a better experience and stressful/technical than I had expected. I just need to "git gud" playing this game.
