After starting the game in fullscreen it's not in the foreground, but alt-tabbing to steam and back to the game fixes the issue.

It is playable, but requires tinkering outside Steam and crashes after a couple of battles.

It crashed on approach to the first boss after completing tutorial. But then I've been able to perfect two bosses (a couple of attempts each) before it crashed on loading the third. The crash itself is curious - it crashes my whole desktop session, not just the game - it falls into OS login screen.
