Steam Cloud saves do not automatically sync between Windows and native Linux versions.
While the game has a native Linux version, the Steam Cloud is configured in such a way that saves will not automatically sync between the Windows and native Linux version.
If you are playing across device (ie. Windows PC and Steam Deck) you may prefer to force the use of Proton so that the Windows version is used on both devices for seamless save syncing.

On initial startup it seems the menu can only be navigated using mouse and keyboard, so hold the Steam button and use the right track pad + R2 to click.
Game has full controller support, but in-game button prompts remain as mouse and keyboard
Initial startup will ask to install PhysX. Hold the Steam button and use the right trackpad to move the mouse cursor, and R2 to click.
Once in-game the video options are shown. Options changed:
Aspect Ratio: Widescreen
Resolution: 1280x800
On the main menu enable gamepad support by selecting Help and Options -> Input Options Gamepad: Yes
Quit and start the game again, gamepad input will now work to control the menus.
