Tinker Steps:Switch to older version: 6.3-8
Only worked after downgrading proton to an older version, been stable after playing for an hour or so, if not it crashes at the starting fight or just after.
Only tested on X-2.

Only one crash after switching to older Proton
On default version of Proton suggested the game crashes as soon as you finish the intro fight or the fight just afterwards.
Switching to older Proton version made the game way more stable, but did crash every so often (after more than an hr of play).
Only tested X-2 on Steam Deck

Crashes during in--game movies/cinematics
Might be better to just stream the game from you pc so you can view the in–game movies/cinematics without issue. Doing so on the Decks hardware crashes the Deck.
