Amazing game combing FPS and Platforming, you should play it! Runs buttery smooth out of the box, native on Linux, did not test Proton.

Average FPS is a lower than on Windows 10, but 1% are the same. Issue stems from one CPU core being used a lot more than the rest. It happens with other games as well, could be from my particular setup. Could be a problem with Xorg as well. Wayland has it worse.
Multiplayer is broken on proton 7 and 8, game thinks it's offline. Proton 9 and Experimental crash the game.
Managed to play a few rounds with friends as a test. No problems were had.
The game runs basically as if on Windows, when using Proton. Perfromance is excelent! Multiplayer works out of the box with Windows users.

Runs as if on a native Windows 10! Played a few multiplayer saves with friends over multiple days both on Manjaro and Windows without seeing any issues or differences.
Don't use the native Linux version of the game, it has not been update in years and does not allow playing multiplayer with Windows users due to "version mismatch" (i.e. version too old).
If your PC supports DX12, I do highly recomend switching to it! It provides a big FPS uplift with less stutters on both Windows and Linux. The provided launch option line uses that. If your PC has no DX12 support, delete the "_DX12" part.
Comparing FPS between my Windows 10 install and Manjaro using the build-in benchmarks, they have no mesuarable difference on my setup.
Game runs out of the box without any slowdowns or issues. No need for tinkering.
Worked flawlessly while playing with other people.
