Fatal Error at 27% game loading. Disabled Steam overlay. Tried Proton Hotfix, -dx11 -dx12. Nothing helps, update broke it last week

I had to enable Steam overlay in Global Settigns and Disable Steam overlay in game settings! I wasn't able to start the game because it got stuck 2 seconds after start as others have mentioned. Asked on reddit. This is the solution that works for me.
