Installed the game, set GE-Proton, and launched the game, no fuss, no problems. Played a few multiplayer games without any more weirdness that the game demonstrates on a Windows machine.
A Linux version is promised for the full release, but for now this is a serviceable alternative
After staying on the menu for a period of time, all audio ceased functioning. Restarting the game fixed it, and the issue has yet to return
Game itself has been stable so far, though Alt+Tabbing has consistently crashed the game so far.
For a day one experience with an early access game with no official Linux support, the game has fallen completely within the bounds of what I would consider acceptable performance for my hardware, stability, and usability. I'm certain that in the coming days, work will be done both from Intercept's end and from the Proton dev's end to make the experience even better. With that said, I have a relatively high specced machine with bleeding edge drivers for best performance. For others on lower end hardware, I suspect they may have more performance issues, though this is speculation on my part based on the reports from Windows users, actual performance numbers remain to be seen.
Installed dotnet472 as per Github Report. Game stutters heavily everywhere, and in-world the skybox failed to load.
Several different Proton versions tested, also tested without the fsync-patched kernel. I've tried running with and without Esync, with and without DXVK enabled, and with the other common tweaks. In all cases, the game fails to start with "Application load error 3:0000065432". The game runs essentially flawlessly through Steam when Steam itself is also run through WINE, so the issue appears to lie with Proton.
