Using the previously mentioned launch flags, as well as Proton Experimental, should lend you a great experience.
Game stutters a bit, but the stutters eventually go away as you play. Certain launch flags such as, "RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command%" and "PROTON_NO_GLSL=1 %command%" made these stutters more of a rarity!
AMD users will likely experience no stuttering while Nvidia users may not be as lucky.
Game crashed once while changing in-game resolution in the pause menu.
Nvidia users will likely experience minor stutters, but as you progress through the game, they become an extreme rarity. Previously mentioned launch flags also help to greatly reduce their effect and frequency.
Runs really well!!! Only stutters if environments aren't loading in, otherwise, it's a great experience!
FairFight
First few matches may include some infrequent stutters, but from there on, it's smooth sailing! Multiplayer does work and the anti-cheat is cool with Linux players!!!
Game runs really well!!! It does skip frames here and there, but this is a rare occurence as you play!
Improves performance significantly and can make stuttering less of an occurence.
Proton-GE (latest version)
Without launch flag, audio would crackle.
Game crashes if graphics settings menu is accessed while gameplay is paused.
It stutters a bit in Online mode but it pretty much runs as it does on Windows. If you are on a desktop, you will likely experience no stutters, granted, your PC must be beyond GTA V's minimum spec requirement. Campaign runs flawlessly and Online mode, as stated earlier, runs really well albeit with a few infrequent stutters.
Game runs perfectly, but newest update has some issues.
Heavy foliage as a result of the new update. Hopefully, a patch is released.
There is issues rendering certain artifacts that were not present before. A patch for this is likely to be released by Valve, eventually. Otherwise, the game runs far better via Proton on Linux systems than it does on Windows systems.
Use Protontricks and force the game to run with Proton 5.0-10 before launching game for the first time!!!
Game requires Windows Media Player 11. If not installed, game will not run past Capcom logo splash screen!
- Before launching REmake, force the game to run using Proton 5.0-10. Once that is done, open the game. The game should only reach the Capcom logo screen before displaying nothing (black screen/window).
- Close REmake and open your terminal (Be sure to have Winetricks, as well as Protontricks installed). Type in "protontricks 304240 -q wmp11" and wait until everything is complete.
- Open REmake and have fun!
