First, download UbiConnect Installer from its official website and replace UplayInstaller.exe
in the game directory with the downloaded one (remember to change downloaded file name). Then, use Proton 4.13 or older to launch the game. After you log in to your Ubisoft account, the Ubisoft Game Launcher should immediately crash. Then, switch to Proton 6.3 or higher and re-launch the game. The game shall now be ready.
By the way, I have Quadro P620 and nvidia 470.57, which wasn't detected by Steam.
(regarding my previous report) You know, packages from openSUSE Leap 15.3 is somewhat older then Ubuntu 21.10.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
or WINEDLLOVERRIDE=dxgi=n
required on Wayland displays. Not necessary on Xorg displays.
Not a must.
If you launch the game via the "common" way (i.e. just click on the Play button), the game won't do anything at all!
How to launch this game:
- Set Proton version to
4.*
. Launch the game. It should immediately crash. - Set Proton version to
5.*
. Then re-launch the game. It should work this time.
If the game doesn't display anything then delete $WINEPREFIX
and repeat steps 1-2.
This game can only run under a WINEPREFIX
created by Proton 4.* and via Proton 5.* .
Use this flag if you experience graphical degradations. Otherwise unneeded.
Installing wmp11
enables video playback.
Won't start at all
Origin Client starts, NFS13.exe starts, game window not appearing at all. Tried disabling Origin in-game and Steam overlay, didn't help.
BTW I have Quadro P620 and nvidia 470.57.
Generally works out-of-the-box, but sometimes severe display problems occur...
After 12 hours of playing, the game window is refusing to refresh unless I send an windows resizing event to it. I didn't change my hardware configuration or system configuration prior to the time this problem happens.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
with Proton 4.13 avoids this.
Use winetricks
or protontricks
to install Windows Media Player 11, or video playback will be broken.
