It's Fallout 3 and iff you can get it working, it's stable and working quite well. (Depending if you like the old style of gaming)
Strange white blocks appearing when HDR is active (just turning it off, makes them disappear)
Just plainly refused to start in Window mode (can not enable Renderer)
Does not start with Proton > 5.0.x (and I only managed to get it running stable with Proton-GE-5.8)
The bugreport is short and doesn't contain any error...
With default Proton it doesn't work correctly because of some broken/missing libffi.so.6 dependency (it regularly crashes and I am even confused that it does start)
It took me about 2h of finding a working configuration (with a Proton-GE Version) :(
It could be enjoyed, but only if you accept restarting the game apprx. every 15-30 minutes.
Sometimes the sound of Fawkes gun didn't stop until restart or fast travel
Sometimes FPS broke down. Pausing the game fixes this
The crashes were very random. Happens even more often I activated logs. With logs on, Fallout3 is spamming log entries about hardware access
If you have an old (PROTON) WINEPREFIX. You need to delete it before starting Fallout3. Otherwise the game will instant crash befor showing anything. Not the best gaming experience, but I was able to play though the main campaign.

Slight Stutter during Cutscenes
It took a lot of tinkering DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command% finally did the trick. Before every start of the menu, memory fragments and different actions caused frame drops down from about 60 FPS to 5 FPS Not all Proton Versions have my PS4 Controller working I don't have the best Hardware - so the stuttering I expected might be down to that.
Two crashes
- At the very start - directly when starting (luckily a safegame was created before the crash and continuing worked)
- At the end, during the credits (Game finished - so, don't really care)
