Can only be launched once
Tutorial is very buggy
Could not load launcher on Windows, even after reinstalling the whole game. On Linux it runs at first launch.
Installed patch loader mod and some others.
Cross - device saves doesn't work.
Loading cross-device saves even if it works is a tricky process.
I'm always running everything on Proton-GE to get extra features but this game should work fine on default Proton.
A rare case when native exists and it actually works
Game is greatly optimized only taking 40% of my GPU rendering 144 FPS at maxed out settings.
Sometimes when switching from windowed to fullscreen mode the game crashes.
Crashes when changing settings and no multisampling support.
Nothing else
Works perfecly
Building menu crash is no longer existent after NVIDIA driver 550 is an recommended option in Linux Minux.
NVIDIA is borked again
Unfortunatelly the game crashes after initial loafing process.
Proton-GE fixed all the issues, however the game is still poorly optimized.
I discovered that cause of crashes on NVIDIA GPUs is actually a broken implementation of multi-sampling which breaks the game when changed from 4x to 8x in the default Proton Experimental.
Now everything works correctly meaning game is fully compatible with Linux.
Randomly appearing squares of textures on the ground
No support for anti-aliasing
Switch to older vesion of Proton and wait for open-source NVIDIA 560 drivers.
DLSS that I'm forced to use is very blurry
Performance on an RTX 3060 is a joke
Having to use DLSS ultra performance to get smooth gameplay experience is a joke in a game with such a simple geometry on a 25 teraflop ray tracing hardware.
Works with no issues
Installed Vox Populi + Community Patch .dll mod that only supports Windows.
Much louder fan.
Nothing else.
You have to use "ineedlegacyaccess" as a beta code to lauch the game in DX11 istead of DX9.
Proton-GE is not necessary, however Windows version is. Linux version is unstable and doesn't support mods. Mods launching on startup now have to be installed in "/home/piotr/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization V/Assets/DLC". DX9 version of the game is stuck on lower graphics settings and doesn't work with mods.
Native Linux version breaks when installing mods, Proton-GE version works perfecly (Use Proton-GE in case of newest games and always select the DirectX 11 if DirectX 12 is an option).
Proton-GE has extra features so it may prevent some issues.
https://lutris.net/games/ubisoft-connect/ (Rocksmith+ version)
Don't use fullscreen Ubisoft Connect on first launch or otherwise your PC will become unusable. To fix it for future launches switch the game settings to borderless.
Proton-GE contains extra features that might increase performance.
