Overall worked quite well without a hastle. Played for an extended single duration (3+ hours) without any FPS loss or any bad frame drops.
I had a steam cloud save from when I was on Windows that was a co-op campaign I was doing with someone. They could not join the save when I invited them. Restarting twice fixed it, hasn't happened since.
Fun & No tinkering required
This was not a linux specific issue (as when I ran windows previously it had the same issue) of stuttering fps at random times for 20-30 seconds. No idea what causes it.
Ran the shell script to change the executable along with the previous fix of changing the config to 'AMD64', worked flawlessly in multiplayer with users on windows.
Launched game and it immediately turned my monitor's HDMI source off, and when I focused on that monitor it would be a black screen.
Focusing my mouse onto another monitor showed the game, but the background was messed up with lots of missing textures. Had to restart my display manager because it made my primary monitor extremely blurry without changing the resolution.
