After a while game starts stuttering and FPS goes down to 10-15, switching the game settings to 'LOW' seems to delay that significantly but the game looks like it's from 2004. I suspect it's a memory leak causing GPU VRAM usage hitting the 8GB limit on my GTX1080. Only fix seems to be restarting the game.
Fingers crossed game updates will eventually fix it up to a sustained playability level on default graphics settings.
I don't think any tinkering is required - I launched it and it just worked on my first launch
There were brief flickering artefacts of rather missing regions (usually terrain or water) blinking in and out of view depending on view angle
First launch without any Startup parameters I managed to play for 75min straight - then while opening the item wheel the game froze and PC locked up (common occurance whenever nvidia runs out of VRAM)
Installed on NVME SSD with Btrfs and the following mount options: 'noatime,lazytime,commit=120,discard=async,compress-force=zstd:1,space_cache=v2'
