The game crashes at the splash screen on newer proton versions. Launching it with Proton 4.2-9 gets me to the main menu without a crash but it doesn't let me play because there is no connection to steam.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
Proton version 4.11-8 did not work for me, I was getting stuck on the loading screen before the main menu. Switching to proton 4.2-9 solved the issue.
