Game launches to white screen with Elden Ring mouse; immediately crashes

tried many tinkering steps, GE-Proton7-10, Experimental, Experimental bleeding-edge, -windowed, gamemoderun %command%, disable Steam Overlay.

My results are the same everytime:

Launch to white screen with elden ring cursor and immediately crash OR
Black screen indefinite hang

I set to 40 Hz like a lot of other folks. no issues there.

Difficult To Read Text:Yes

the fall feed is a bit hard to read, but I think you can adjust it player names can be hard to rea, but they're pretty inconsequential

Overall (online):Excellent

Works well, I had to force quit the game after initial set-up was done. Launching once again loaded me up into the main menu and I was able to play.
