Can install, can start, cannot play as of 26.10.2024
I read recent reviews that the game was working on linux for some time but it got broken again. There is a known EAC bug since 10.10.2024 and the game is starting but I am getting kicked out due to EAC Offline. Tried different proton versions but was not successful.
Occasional black screen after a match forcing me to restart the game completely or very rare complete freeze during game
There was no tinkering while on EndeavourOS, just allow steam to play in compatibility mode. on PopOS I couldn't make it run at all past the launcher and couldn't figure out what is missing to install in order to play it on PopOS. Maybe Arch has more modern kernal features and that is why it starts without issue there.
Requires changing of renderer_type to DirectX12 in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2694490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2/poe2_production_Config.ini otherwise the game boots to a black screen.
If you use layouts in your system make sure that the first one is the English layout otherwise it bugs the bindings.
The games starts in steam only when changed from Vulkan to DirectX12 in the config. The official launcher version installed via lutris runs without any tinkering.
