Used Proton-5.9GE-ST-7 GloriousEggroll fork of Proton. I also disabled the builtin vsync and installed libstrangle, adding [ENVVARS] strangle 60 %command%.
Atom Shop unsupported, everything shows as free and nothing can be purchased
The game has native Linux support in a beta build, so it runs perfectly even without Proton
It runs natively, at least on the beta branch
Removed audio stuttering
installed dotnet20 to fix the configuration tool and set fullscreen resolution (same problem/fix as Sonic Adventure 2, both use the same config tool)
Resolved with PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Use protontricks to change wine to use a "virtual desktop" window to resolve
Configurator won't save settings and launch game without dotnet20
Installed dotnet20
Launcher requires dotnet20 to be installed in order to run, and it generates .cfg files required to run the game. Either use winetricks/protontricks to install dotnet20, or put .cfg files from Windows in the config directory and rename sonic2app.exe to Launcher.exe
steam://rungameid/1675180 fails, "invalid app configuration"
The product does not even exist and I can't even run it because it is hardware, not software
