installs fine, only starts using Proton 7.0-4, all other versions I tested (7.0-5, GE-36, 6.3-8) don't even launch the game. When launched, video hangs right away, sound continues. Once intro is skipped, only the background of the main menu is rendered, with a white vertical line center screen, no ui. Sound suggests that mouse input hovering over menu items. Using launch options does not fix the issue.

It runs smooth when using GE-Proton and installing the Steamworks Common Redistributable manually. Without the latter the game will launch but ther won't be any GUI or HUD. For some reason the game does not automatically install it, even if it depends on it.
