Only present in the native version of the game. Black replaces several otherwise transparent textures.
Input issues were only present on the native version of the game. You cannot turn indefinitely in either direction; you will stop. Also, you cannot look down until you have looked all the way up. These issues were present even on controller.
On the native version of the game, clicking on the white door in the menu leaves a black screen. I was only able to play by clicking on the book.
Along with issues, there is a benign anomaly with input. Mouse sensitivity seems to go way up when playing the game via Proton compared to playing natively. If I had to guess, it's because the Windows version uses raw mouse input, while the Linux one uses the global cursor sensitivity. This may be a problem for you if you use high DPI on your mouse, as there's no opton to change mouse sensitivity in-game, but if you use a low or normal amount of DPI on your mouse, you'll likely be fine.
Over 100 mods were installed, and likely have contributed to the issue. Almost always occurred when loading into Vanessa's Curse or Nyakuza Metro, with only one crash I remember that occurred outside of those bounds.
I am subscribed to over 100 mods on the workshop, so by no means is my experience "normal". You can find a collection of my subscribed items here, as there may be incompatiblilites I am unware of: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2984635588
Bugs seem to be universal, and not limited to Linux.
Vanessa's Curse slices the framerate in half when loaded into the map.
Game causes the Deck itself to crash after long sessions, or with a lot of mods installed. However, it is still playable overall.
L4/R4 set to Dpad Left/Right respectfully. Changed both trackpad behaviors to single button (also Dpad Left/Right, respectfully). L5 set to X, R5 set to A.
Artifacts only began to appear after I disabled mods when trying to figure out what was causing crashes. Artifacts include a black screen sometimes after talking to the Empress, and visual stuttering when entering doors.
Crashes, more often than not, seem to cause the Deck itself to crash due to it running out of RAM. The game doesn't clear memory when it isn't needed, leading the game to fill up memory gradually. This puts a limit on how many levels you can load into before a Deck crash. Actual game crashes were rare, even with the sheer amount of mods I installed.
Someone caused Vanessa's Curse to become unplayable by not fully connecting, adding in a ghost player to the mode.
The game could be enjoyed by people who tend to have short sessions. However, people who like to play a single game for a long time will always have to worry about crashes. Deck crashes are frequent with enough mods installed, and are always a looming threat even with them disabled.
Runs perfectly out of the box.
Achievements have a hard time unlocking, but are due to developer oversights rather than Proton.
Only occurred after changing resolution; resolved after restarting the game.
Game doesn't technically launch at native resolution (720p as opposed to 800p), but in the options menu, setting the resolution setting to automatic sets it to the correct resolution without any graphical defects.
Game has problems taking in inputs, and doesn't even properly start when playing natively.
Enabled Proton.
When running the game without Proton, the game will occasionally become windowed despite starting in fullscreen.
When continuing to the next level, you lose control of the game and have to alt+F4 to close the game in order to continue playing.
Game freezes at bootup when playing the native version.
This game has suffered a lot of technical problems over the years due to the old age of the software, namely Windows breaking things. However, problems have arisen even on Linux, and as this game is made by a rather small studio, an update to fix these issues is unlikely.
