For me, it handled nicely with minor, non-gamebreaking bugs. Could probably kill the Undead Dragon if given enough time.
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Game music was missing. Did a test and ran out to 200 blocks, then 900 blocks. None of the biome music played. Main Menu music didn't play either.
Arms not lit correctly.
Worked out of the box.
Installed Monster Hunter Rise, clicked "Play", and got to playing with no additional tinkering.
Recent Update Borked EVERYTHING
Long story short, the most recent update (Jan 22, 2024), removed Denuvo and put Enigma Protector into the game, which has thus far completely borked everything on Linux AND Deck. This game will not launch with Valve's default Proton, Proton Experimental, or even GloriousEggroll's Proton.
Works nicely out of the box.
I installed this game, hit "Play", and it loaded up just fine with no issues. Haven't reached a point to try multiplayer quests on my new character, but on my old character multiplayer worked fine.
Works nicely out of the box
What can I say? I installed Monster Hunter: World, clicked "Play", and got to playing with no issues.
If you're alright with potential rendering issues (nothing too major), it runs decently well, minus the Spirit Box.
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Game runs fine, occasionally have walls glitching in and out of rendering existence. Might try proton launch options later, but this is a base Proton-GE run.
Game relies on Windows Voice Recognition for the Spirit Box, which does not currently work with Proton.
As mentioned, Microphones do not work in this game due to it relying on Windows Voice Recognition, and no viable alternative afaik. The graphical glitches may or may not be sorted out by running some proton launch options for this game, but I have not tried anything out. This was a pure, almost totally out of the box experience with Phas on Proton-GE.
Handles nicely for an i7-1165g7 with Xe Graphics. Just turn graphics settings down a little, being an iGPU.
Proton-6.21-GE-2
This was ran using the latest version of Proton-GE at the time (Proton-6.21-GE-2).
Loads to title screen, then freezes. Using Proton Experimental for latest improvements.
Game launches, but unable to load a world.
Used Protontricks to install .NET Dekstop Runtime 7.0 which is required for the beta branch as well as future Retail updates of this game.
Game launches to main menu, and runs quite well. Only issue is when you go to load a world or create one, you get immediately booted back to the main menu.

Occasional, i suppose the term is texture flicker? Long story short, screen occasionally flickers.
When using default Proton, Vermintide 2 fails to launch entirely (with Steam showing "Launching" before going back to "Play", with no mention of errors). Switching to Proton GE, as well as the temporary_launcher_workaround branch fixed the launch failure. Make sure that on this special branch, you set the Launch Option to "Bypass Launcher (dx12)", otherwise it will fail to launch like before.
When attempting to join a game, you can play for a few minutes, then it puts you into Host Migration mode, and fails to migrate correctly, booting you back to Taal's Horn Keep. Hosting a game yourself works fine.
TL;DR: Game does not launch with standard proton on the non-beta branch. Launch the game using Proton GE and the temporary_launcher_workaround beta branch, with the launch option set to "Bypass Launcher (dx12)".
When in game, attempting to join another player's session results in you being able to play for a few minutes, before the game decides it needs to perform Host Migration, and fails to complete this, resulting in you getting booted back to the main lobby. You are perfectly capable of hosting a game with no issues, and people can join you equally with no issues.
Graphically, the game works well except for the occasional texture flicker, but other than that there are no other notable issues, and overall runs well.
