Below 30fps frame rates

Changed my control settings to anything and everything. Controller simply doesn't work, therefor playing on Steam Deck doesn't work. Non-functioning. Somehow, my experiences aren't the same as everyone else's, but they persist even after re-installing, using different controllers, etc.

Been playing in desktop mode in 1080p with FPS capped to 45, AA and rain detail turned down a bit. Frames are a bit choppy, often sitting in 30s indoors and dropping to 20s outside. Outside rain is the worst. No instability in 7h playtime though.

Started moving things around for more comfortable gameplay but this scheme worked fine ootb.

Currently there's issues with which in-game window is focussed when using a controller. In the past that left me unable to continue playing. Fortunately; switching to keyboard and mouse makes the game really playable.
Some Frame Drops, particularly when going from inside to outside in the rain. Additional stutter during save, nothing terrible for an early access at all.
Initially I struggled to get things to feel okay, after switching to keyboard and mouse it's pretty solid. I'm really glad because this game seems like it has huge potential; it's a fascinating concept.

Some dips when walking out into the rain.
Got soft locked on the tutorial windows opening above the case board, but the case board being selected. This lead to not being able to close the tutorial windows. Happened twice in separate save games. Also got a forever spinner on one load after pressing the any key.
Have submitted a bug report and will definitely play again after updates.
Worked out of the box but had some frustrating UI Bugs and I wasn't able to complete the tutorials.
I think the game has great potential and have submitted bug reports. Hopefully the devs are on it, I'll wait for an update then try again.
The text can be hard to read, in general due to handwriting
The FPS can be up to 60 indoors, with considerable dips outdoors. Capped it at 45 FPS with FSR at 0 and it ran well. Had to switch to a community layout, as the investigation board with just the standard controller layout is abysmal to control. The track pad is a must!
If you can handle 30-ish fps with some loading stutter you'll have a decent experience. The game's just about playable on deck.
Ran st 800x500 with FSR at sharpness 0, all settings lowest except for rain on medium. helps with both preformance and battery. Expect 2 1/2 to 3 hours from a full charge.
With the tweaks i used to get a decent framerate i had to use FSR. This made certain text like the phonebook and notes with wonky handwriting a little difficult to read. If you struggle with reading small text then pass on this game as it's required for the vast majority of investigations
Runs a little too slow to be playable at native rez. 800x500 and FSR are a must. large and very large cities are doable but stick to small and medium cities for the best experience.
It depends a little on your tolerance for lower frame rates and potential save issues, but the game can be played.
Set up face buttons to be common keys for the game
Some text is pretty small, but there are ways to zoom for some areas
The game defaults to a controller layout, but is configured to use keyboard and mouse in the settings and ignore controller input. This can either be toggled or set to auto switch, but it seems you need to be using a mouse layout before you can change that.
I've had issues when saving and the steam deck restarts as well as when trying to load the same map
Frame rate isn't great and there is some stuttering when bits of the level load. Less of an issue on smaller maps, but still there.
I've not had any crashes in game, but loading some cities as resulted in the steamdeck restarting.
While not perfect, the game is playable if you can overlook some performance issues and the potential of your save breaking at some point, though this is an early access game, so that can happen due to updates too. I've been having fun with the game and enjoying the mechanics and situations that arise from them, despite the less than great performance.
Setting the face buttons to use keyboard buttons laid out for a controller and modifier keys on grip buttons
Infrequent, but some text can be small
Official layout defaults to controller, but game is set to use mouse and ignores controller unless an option is switched, so changing to a keyboard and mouse layout before starting seems the best option.
Larger maps have some pausing when loading in areas, which is not great for walking around as it happens every few seconds.
Steamdeck has sporadically rebooted a few times on startup and required restart after setting force experimental for game to run first time.
Performance on Steandeck can be improved a bit by turning off anti aliasing, which doesn't make a huge differene for a voxel style game. Using a trackpad as a mouse makes pointing at items to interact with much easier, though on screen button hints are mildly confusing as they reference keys.
In it's current state the frame rate is just a little too low to be consistently playable.
I've had similar issues on my desktop so I know it isn't protons fault, but sometimes menus can refuse an input or two
At the lowest graphics settings and 720p it averaged 27 fps.

But i can't see the menu only the spinning Steam icon.
