PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 does the trick. UE4 DX11 game. Game menu changes (resolution or trying to click on online play) might cause a crash, though. See the crash text message for details (points to pointers?). Otherwise, the game itself runs fine and performant. Gamepad works. Fullscreen or Windowed works. High framerate. No rendering issues.

Entire OS froze completely a few second after the initial logo of the game appeared. Couldn't get out of it in anyway other than forcefully shutting down the machine. I'm on a laptop, so I also tried with optirun (GTX 960M; driver 396.54), same thing.
