Aside from the usual CVR Server issues that can happen even on windows, it just works.
Beware: change your Proton version from the hotfix for the game as a critical memory leak occurs when starting the game and will put your OS in permanent HALT/Freeze when memory and swap are filled. (usually try something like Proton 9.0-4)

May Experience Hitches Upon Loading Avatars or Props. All Content makes use of Custom Shaders that need to be converted from DX11 Shaders to Vulkan.
User Content that contains Magica Cloth or Magica Cloth 2 may cause crashes, not all content, this appears to be an Inconsistent issue. Solution is to Disable Dynamic Bones in your Avatar Filter and Prop Filter (all Bone Dynamic Systems in ChilloutVR Listen to the Dynamic Bones Setting). The Crash is not Imediate, which indicates that it might be able to be fixed later on.
This is an Online Only Social Virtual Reality Game. If the Multiplayer did not work the game itself would not be able to work.
I did not experience many if any issues with Video Players. I have heard there may be additional issues but I have not experienced them. If you do you may be advised to add --enable-libvlc
to your Launch Options in Steam. Be aware that Video Seeking (going to a specific time in a video) may not work with libvlc enabled, so it's best to use it for things like Livestreams. It's a launch option for a reason.

%command% --enable-libvlc
Only need --enable-libvlc for video playing. Without libvlc, video players in game will not work, but otherwise everything else does.

--enable-libvlc
I added Controls For both Mouse and Keyboard+ Regular Controller(The latter is only For Vehicles) I also Added a wheel for Emotes and Gestures One of the Back Grip buttons was to Enable Gyro for better control.
Menu Boxes would not show proper width and thuspart of boxes in menus that should be there aren't. This is Very Minor though and Most wouldn't notice.
Steam Deck is surprizing powerful. I can Most Times get a solid 60FPS. I wouldn't suggest trying it in VR though. ;~; I can not Forget the total of 11 Frames I was getting with just a couple people. However, this was before the Unity 2021 Update and I have not attempted since.
If You don't have Enable LibVLC Enabled It WILL Crash on Worlds that have Video Players. The Game itself Runs Great Otherwise. Honestly if you are looking for a Very Supporting Community. The game itself may not have support for Linux out the Box but the Players can be of some help.
I would Like the Menu's to Take use of the Steam Keyboard though. Even in Windows Version. It uses the Keyboard that is part fo the UI for most the typing which though is nice and all would be nice to just get that Badge.
It's Default set is also a bit more to be desired. It's basically the Steam Keyboard and Mouse set. Just slightly Modified. I would greatly appreciate a Layout that Really takes advantage of the Features of the Steam Deck and it's Gyro.

Works as expected for a desktop/non-vr user, I think. GE-Proton7-55 lets videoplayers work; otherwise you'd have to disable them.

Installed dotnet runtime to make use of CVRMelonAssistant
Sometimes player voice audio dies if the game crashes.
Unsure if this is just the general vr but things did glitch out every now and then. Overall no issues aside from weird prop interactions a bit.
I'm fairly new to Linux and recently switched from Windows. With all the right drivers installed everything works!
Great connection and mostly consistent FPS, even in rooms of 10-12 players.
Video players work now (pause play vol/mute). Keep in mind the previous reports are over 8+ months old and could be innacurate. Installing Nvidia/AMD drivers from here was the only way any of my games would launch.

If your game's FPS is being capped at 45-60 FPS despite having a refresh rate of 90-120hz, check your Per Application Video settings in SteamVR and make sure throttling is set to Fixed. This is an issue on both Windows and Linux
Can't change volumes in game
Sometimes controls get stuck. Entering and exiting menu fixes this.
Connects just fine. Zero issues.
Control layout is alright, not very good. There's a community layout that adds the ability to crouch and prone. Keyboard and mouse would be better. Game runs fine overall and there's no more video player related crashing issues.
the chillout vr latest update fix the crash when trying to play video player. now we can play video player without crashing but play/pause and vol/mute button don't work.
works as on windows, only problem is video players
the main aspects of the game works as expected, video players have issues like being upside down and play/pause not working, if they are a problem for you then you can disable them by adding the "--disable-videoplayers" launch option to ChilloutVR on steam
%command% --disable-videoplayers
In game video players cause crashes. Need to disable in launch options
Lack of video players may be dealbreaker, otherwise very good compatibility
systemd-run --scope --user -p MemoryHigh=24G -p MemoryMax=26G gamemoderun %command% --disable-videoplayers
Added winhttp
in winecfg for mod support, not required for base game
Works about as well as I heard it works on Windows.
Had weird really bad performance issues when tried to play using xanmod-tt kernel, switching to plain xanmod fixed them magically.
so far only video player will make ur game crash. other than that no problem. but for vr headset i dont know because i dont have one.
it will crash if i play a video player.
zorin 16 pro os. proton 7.0-3

%command% --disable-videoplayers
Crash upon movement in worlds with video players
GE causes weird, glitchy startup screen
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Video player crashes the client completely upon loading a url. Likely uses AVPro4.
when i play a video player chilloutvr, it will crash.
No issues, Social VR may have a future on Linux, as long as the headsets run on it as well.
Fullscreened to wrong display. Easy fix.
Works like a charm with the current Proton stable
Runs great out of the box. Just hit install and play.
Works perfectly.

Works out of the box. This was tested using "Proton-5.21-GE-1".
This game at the time of posting is currently under open alpha. Not all features are implemented yet.
