Could not acquire information for App ID: . This can happen if a game was removed from the store. After some tinkering the game runs as it did on windows but only in DX9 mode and you need to disable post processing in the display options.
Here's how I've done: First you need to download ubisoft connect from the Ubisoft's website. Add the installation file to the steam as a non steam game and force it to run through proton (Mine was 7.0.5 while I was writing this). You should've installed the launcher without any issue. One it's done make sure to check the "run after installation" option in the installer and then hit exit to close it. If it's done correctly then the Ubisoft Connect starts. Log in with your username like usual and make sure to check "remember this device" option to store your login information. After a succesfull login close the program. Now, here's the tricky part: you need to search the installation folder manually in the .steam/steam/steamapss/compatdata folder and look through the Program Files(x86) folders. If one of them contains an Ubisoft folder that would probably the correct one. Now, rename that Steam id folder into 48180 and that's it. You can now download the Steam version of H.A.W.X. 2.

DX11 mode doesn't work and I don't know why. Altough DX9 works, you need to disable post processing in the game menu in order to start a mission.
Game will not start from steam, I haven't tried anything to get it running
Ubisoft Game Launcher Error code 1.
Game requires Ubisoft Connect DRM.
Game does not work
Game can be installed through Steam, but can't be started. Do start the game you need to do these steps with protontricks:
- set compatibility mode to Win 7
- install Uplay
After that you can start the game and configure it, but not play it. If you press play, the campaign videos start to run, stop after few seconds, loading screen appears and you get thrown back into the main menu.
