Not using GE-Proton7-55 will lead to pre-rendered cutscenes having showstopper issues (e.g. non-progressable black screens, "TV color test" screens, etc). This is the most up-to-date Proton/GE that fully works in my tests.
- Players MUST fully rebind the controller in-game after initial launch.
- Game doesn't support gamepad prompts, so a mod ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=886358288 ) is needed. After extraction it can be applied with:
protontricks --no-bwrap --cwd-app -c "wine cmd /c Patch.bat" 322520

Ran at 800 x 450 / 800 x 600 with FSR
Artifacts when attacking. This is a problem with the default Post Effects setting. Change Post Effects to High to fix.
Game doesn't have controller icons so you are given keyboard icons instead. You just have to figure out which button does what on controller.
Normal proton and experimental proton both have issues with playing movies. Proton GE doesn't seem to have any issues with movies so far. There are graphical artifacts for smoke particles and when attacking. This seems to be an issue with the Post Effects setting. Setting Post Effects to High resolved the graphical anomalies.
I haven't played the game long enough to see if there are any other issues. I will report back if there are.
Movies don't get displayed and only show a test screen. Otherwise the game runs fine out of the box with 7.0-2

So after looking at the other Dynasty Warrior game entries on here I tried some of the fixes they mentioned. Disabling show movies in the config does let it boot past the loading screen.
You can get in game and play!
However, the controller issue is present here, spins to the left constantly, so you cannot play with a controller.
There are also graphical issue in the game. Fire on torches does this weird odd colored glow and as it gets to the edge of the screen shoots out black circles from it. Mouse attacks are colored strangely and are transparent and without detail.
Its technically playable, but its not a good time unfortunately.

Loading screen and then nothing as per other post

It opened, launched to a loading screen, then went blank
