Russian language version is newer and seems to works out of the box. Copy data files over from the English version to change language as described in the Steam forums.

Video cutscenes do not work and just give black screen and no audio. Pressing Esc skips them or you can disable them in the settings dialog (config.exe). You can watch the videos with your favorite video player if you want to.

I enabled vsync in dxvk.conf (d3d9.presentInterval = 1) because others had commented they had to force it on Windows but I don't know if it was necessary. I did not have to do any other tweaks to make the game playable.
