Installs. Opens. Displays title. Menu options work including options. Clicking through title screen results in "Connecting" followed by black screen.
Game no longer requires being installed on an SD card; can install to internal storage without using any launch commands or changing Proton versions. Can set graphics to max without any worries about performance. Controllers aren't supported officially, but the game plays great (including in dungeons) with custom layouts. I shared my own personal layout (called Ever Deck) on Steam, it works great for me, though you may want to make further changes to it if you don't use auto-battle.
Works just as well as it did when I was running it on Windows on the same machine, with no tinkering needed at all.

It's not a Linux issue but worth noting that the game does block you and stays on connecting or times you out if you log in on a vpn which i forgot about a few times.
No Joy being able to play this on linux mint.
I have reistalled several times and tried various proton versions listed by other users. I can get past the title screen can link my account data with most of the ones ive tried but when i press start playing it just goes to a black screen and says connecting endlessly..
Switched to Arch Linux on my desktop and the game finally loads past the black connecting screen! I am now able to play Ever Crisis!
It plays online just like how it is on a mobile phone.
The SteamDeck can play Ever Crisis, which is running on Arch Linux SteamOS. I figured I'd try Arch Linux on my desktop with the exact same compatibility settings on my SteamDeck and to my surprise, it worked! I was previously trying to get the game to work on Ubuntu and Debian, but it would never get past the black connecting screen.
If you are a Linux user and want to play Ever Crisis, try switching your distro to Arch. In Steam settings > Compatibility, make sure to Enable Steam Play for all other titles, and change Proton Experimental to Proton 9.0-2. This is the current compatibility settings on my SteamDeck as of posting this.
Not sure if this matters, but I'm using NVIDIA proprietary drivers for my GPU (GTX 1070).
The game worked on Ubuntu 22.04, but on 24.04 not
I was able to get the game working on Ubuntu 22.04, KDE Neon, but for some reason I getting the "Connecting" screen and nothing happens :(
Black Screen after Title Screen
Able to install but after making it to the title screen on the initial run Connecting apears in the top left over the background loading screen. On any attempt after the first; the same behavior but over a black screen. Mouse effects still appear.
Connection issue
Game installs but when trying to download the files necessary after linking my square account, its stuck on connecting. No vpn, no messing with anything, installed all the updates and drivers for my PC, all games work fine connecting, its just this one for some odd reason.
It runs perfectly out of the box with Proton 8.0-4
I have played over 160 hours of the game on Linux and everything works out of the box. It runs 100% perfectly with Proton 8.0-4
Unfortunately, after the title screen, I just see a black screen. I can click and see the custom pointer effect in game, so I know the game hasn't crashed, it's just not advancing beyond this point.

Use the command "PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%" or the game will think you don't have enough space.
Es cierto el error de descarga ingame, lo que he hecho si lo quieres en la memoría interna, es descargar el juego en pc, y pasar los datos a la SD mediante ssh o warñinatlr
no sé por qué, pero si lo pones en window mode y rellenas la pantalla a 800p, se ve mejor.
Move the game to the microsd card.
Gane won't start from the internal storage, there's a ingame error saying there's insufficient space despite there being over 100GB free. Game has to download additional data once started.
