The intro before the game menu and the intro once the game starts causes the game to crash after a while, just skip the videos to solve the problem.
Just use the reported Proton version and run the game in 800x600 (don't try other resolutions). I recommend using Steam Deck's FSR and setting the "Scale Mode" to "Extend" and use my community layout for Steam Deck.
