Gotta use a proton fix - I had 9.23 installed (@Lucidae recommended 9.13) so I tried without issue
The game would not use appropriate resolutions without tinkering. I have a 3440x1440 monitor and run i3, but it wouldn't let me do anything with either fullscreen or windowed on said main monitor.

No-matter what I tried I could not get G-Sync to function properly (ie. FLIP mode) with the native Linux port of the game, so I was forced to run the Windows port with Proton instead.
I would also suggest installing the "Fan-Made Patch" from Nexus Mods which fixes a few outstanding bugs and brings some quality-of-life features; https://www.nexusmods.com/wasteland2/mods/93
Touchscreen required to get paste the initial menus. Character creation was as huge pain.

small text, hard to read
Cloud saves are not compatible among the Linux and Windows versions.
The game is playable but the slowness isn't justified on the machine I'm playing it on
The game has some minor artifacts, and it is rather slow given my hardaware (i7-8750h rtx2060)
When i run the native version, the game crashes, screen resolution is broken. But if I run the game through Proton it works just fine!

Menu is scaled off screen (~1920x1080) On my 1440x900 display I could reach and toggle fullscreen checkbox, after that it worked normal. Graphics performance marginally better than the native port for me. Forced Proton version 4.11-3

It starts. I think it wants to use the whole area of of a 1080p dual-screen and just loads it onto one screen. So the settings are not reachable .....
