Flickering screen makes impossible to play.
Flickering screen - not playable at all!
Play other spider web games like Avadon or a Avernum - they are fine on Steamdeck!
Nethergate requires a virtual desktop set to 800x600 and will crash if you attempt to force it to fullscreen. In my testing it does run fine when forced to a fullscreen borderless window through gamescope.
Nethergate requires gdiplus_winxp, renderer=GDI, vd=800x600, and the OS must be set to Windows XP.
The game is indeed unusable out of the box in any version of Proton -- either the mouse doesn't work, there's massive flickering, it crashes, or it only displays in a tiny corner of the screen. Using these settings (winetricks gdiplus_xp renderer=gdi vd=800x600 winxp) is a near native experience with only an occasional screen flicker.
Just doesn't work no matter what I try.
It launches, but in a tiny screen and freezes so I can't even select anything. I've tried using different Proton versions as well as looking at the install folder and nothing seems to work.
probably needs lower desktop resolution
visual area smaller than clickable area
game starts but is stuck in a tiny window in the upper left hand corner of the screen and cannot be resized or moved alt+tabbing out may cause a system lockup
It works after setting desktop resolution to 800x600, but the screen flickers annoyingly.
Window resolution is not sized correctly, mouse only registers on certain menu buttons, screen flickers black when buttons are pressed. Not playable in current state.
Game does not launch, is stuck at 'Preparing to launch Nethergate: Resurrection...'
Game Starts in full screen in small box, message of the date window appears and done can only be click, game doesn't proceed past faction screen (can only selection roman and clicking next does nothing but play sound)
