Works fine without tinkering

Minor flickering on first boot, ran flawless afterwards
Minor flickering that went away after the first boot
Runs around 5FPS slower on certain multiplayer maps than on windows

First start did nothing, but after that without ant chache works perfect, just steam defaults., noo tinkering

Make sure you use the Eggroll Proton Version (GE-Proton10-9) for the best performance. It easily doubled my frames compared to experimental or Steams 10.x version. Crashes have gone away since a few days and the new patch as they fixed a few memory leaks. Anyway, make sure you have a swap partition setup, as there still may be random crashes if you don't.

This game is pretty good, but I experienced random, frequent crashes until I researched and installed Gamescope.
gamescope -w 2560 -h 1440 -r 60 -f gamemoderun -- %command%
Memory leak after a few hours of playing causes slowdown
Game crashes frequently without Gamescope
Install Gamescope if you run into crashes. Restart game every 2-3 hours because of memory leak issue.

It's a bugfest. Not even early access quality.
Memory leak causing severe performance degradation on subsequent matches. Apparently this was fixed on 1.08 and is unrelated to Linux.
Game crashes occasionaly but the worst is that 90% of the time I experience desync and disconnects from matches that makes the game effectively unplayable. Not sure if this is related to Proton.
It's full of bugs and looks like an alpha release.

Cutscenes freeze and stutter every few seconds. Doesn't affect gameplay.
Needed to switch to GE-Proton9-27, didn't work OOTB (no launch).
Potato settings and grass has massive artifact that moves with screen.
gamemoderun %command%
Stable fps around 60 in menu, single digits to low doubles in game.

gamescope --grab --force-grab-cursor -w 2560 -h 1440 -- mangohud gamemoderun ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 SDL_MOUSE_RELATIVE_MODE_WARP=1 %command%
Use gamescope folks, it fixed all my issues with the game!

The game runs stably at low graphics level 30 fps in the story company in multiplayer 22-25 fps

Yes game runs, but needs a bit tweak to iron out the keyboard getting stuck and changing video settings can bug out the game.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Mouse doesn't stay inside window, goes off to 2nd monitor (tried exclusive fullscreen didnt help)
Problem with keyboard input, like if I use keyboard to navigate around the camera gets "stuck" like it will always go to the right. Only using mouse to interact with the game works though (not optimal, but at least you can play the game)
Crashed to Gnome login once, also the game becomes bugged if I change graphical settings where a "freeze frame" appears on top of the game making playing the game impossible. Not changing graphics is the only "fix" as of now (launch 1.0).
Great game, runs slightly worse than on Windows but nothing major. Hopefully the few bugs that are Linux specific can be ironed out in the future.
Had some issues with getting it to run on the dGPU

gamemoderun %command%
Had a bug that turns grass and dirt textures into some kind of green mirror, changing image scalling and/or image sharpness to 0% sometimes fix this. After playing some matches I now don't encounter this bug, so maybe it was fixed in some hotfix.
On most maps I played I had around 40 - 75 fps (capped), but on some I had around 15, don't know why, didn't investigate much, hope an update improves the optimization. My friend playing on Windows had the same problem, so I don't know.
Game plays alright, hope they iron out the bugs and improve optimization more. No big issues as of right now.

Random in some missions I am locked to 20fps, then it recovers and performance is good again.
Game seems to make the rest of the PC semi-responsive and very unstable while launched.
FPS degrades after a while in the hangar, and most settings make no change to ingame FPS.

Works out of the Box (So far)
Single player works out of the box, didnt have to change proton layer at all, multiplayer untested but will update once attempted (shouldnt be an issue). Im very very impressed and super excited to play more.

Played couple of campaign missions (about 3-4 hours), everything works pretty good.

No disappointment here!
Runs fine on my Nvidia/Intel setup. Should be no tinkering required, just install and play.
Note: I haven't tried multiplayer yet, only the campaign.

PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Intro video doesn't play
No major issues.

gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Tried the game on both Windows and Linux and it runs surprisingly decent, of course not as smooth as on Windows but it's not too far off. I get around 60-70 FPS on both OSes.
Framerate is playable on medium settings, but seems more stable on potato settings
The game sometimes freezes when loading a multiplayer map. There are no specific maps that trigger this bug, it seems that the problem is in the game itself. The "Reconnect to battle" button freezes the game too
The "Quit game" button freezes the game too. It's easier to close the game through Steam

When the battle is too intense (urban assault with insane fire support), its laggy for few second (on potato setting).
Sometimes it freezed indefinitely during gameplay.
It works most of the time. The lag is kinda managable, until freezed during gameplay.

Seems to stablise once all textures are loaded

PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
fps improves with lowering Post Processing
no greater than 20 fps
It can be playable. There are performance issues with FPS, and cutscenes not playing on first try.
Game crashes with post processing on high. Otherwise high settings work OK. Game also crashes when a cutscene occurs.

Some error screen was shown during startup but not during actual gameplay.
Extreme stutters, making the game completely unplayable even at potato graphics. There were a few seconds in between the stutters where it seemed to run fine, so it might be a bug or shader compilation.
Works out of the box, but the videos won't play.

Pretty bad performance on Proton; runs smoothly on Windows.
Dropped quality to potato settings and quartered my display resolution (1280x720 down from 2560x1440) still under 20fps. Playable, but barely. Windows 11 full res and default settings ran ~30fps

too laggy to be enjoyable
