Used the GOG version, (steam version probably has the same issues.) lutris with wine 7.20 as a runner, enabled dgvoodoo2 (i also enabled DXVK and VKD3D but i doubt these made a difference), game works absolutely perfect.

Couldn't even use the menu while using proton 7.0-4 and just a mess in general.

There is probably a much better way to get this game work but this was the best one i can come up with.
