I didn't have to do anything except just play.
gamemoderun %command%

Switched to experimental, just to be careful.
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr use_gstreamer=1 gamemoderun %command%
Runs well after adding use_gstreamer=1 to the launch options. Use GE for codecs, or install them manually using protontricks.
Was previously encountering crashes but got it fixed by installing gst-libav!
If you encounter freezing when opening the pause menu, try running with PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
as the launch options, then take a look at the log file in $HOME/steam-$APPID.log mine mentioned "gstreamer missing plugin" which led me to figure out I needed the libav gstreamer libraries.
Disabling Raw input in the settings fixed all my issues, and I was able to easily rebind the necessary keys within the game settings
Game will crash if you hit a tutorial screen and you are not using Proton GE. The tutorial videos must use a codec unsupported on regular Proton. Otherwise works fine
Game works perfect, just requires changing controller settings and using Proton GE instead of regular Proton.
Once in game (after cutscene) will encounter a freeze pretty quickly (maybe play the around for a minute) where no gpu work is being processed, but audio does continue. Sometimes it may break out of the freeze after waiting a couple of minutes. Pressing escape (pause menu) always freezes in this manner and doesn't recover even after waiting 15 minutes.
Once in control of the character, the game will freeze at a random point, and will always do so when trying to pause the game. Didn't try tweaks or anything. Same behaviour on proton 7 and experimental.
gamemoderun %command%
First tutorial screen is unclosable. Preventing any sort of progress.

In fact, the game works out of the box, given the fact that the game just came out. For greater convenience, I advise you to change the cont
The game design to keyboard and mouse. So I just bind deck control as I like.
Steam cloud don't work

The game runs perfectly and is on par with Windows. Most bugs encountered definitely come from the game itself
