Seems to have a memory leak. My memory useage climbs as I play until eventually I've saturated my memory and start having to use swap (which causes significant slowdowns). If you continue to will fill up your swap and eventually cause the game to crash

mouse cursor gets caught in the map on the respawn screen
Mouse cursor issue is annoying but you can work around it by moving your mouse quickly to get off the map
gamemoderun %command%
despite using a controller (and it working perfectly) the mouse cursor would stay visible in both windowed and fullscreen. I moved the cursor to the bottom right so it wasn't too bad.
I only played with friends in a private match. I did not try to play matchmaking.
If you can get past the somewhat annoying mouse cursor issue it's an enjoyable experience
Despite playing with a DS4 the game displayed xbox button prompts. I also thought that I noticed graphics issues with Crash's hair on Hog Wild but the same issue appears on videos of the game.
Run with proton 6.3-8 for a flawless experience
Playing in exclusive fullscreen causes the game to crash when Alt-Tabbing and frequent crashes during gameplay. Run the game in "fullscreen" rather than "exclusive fullscreen" to fix
Frequent crashes when exclusive fullscreen is enabled
The game worked great for me after changing from the default "exclusive fullscreen" which causes crashes. I don't think this game deserves a platinum rating tbh as the default experience is un-playable. I can certainly see many players experiencing frequent crashing, not knowing why, and giving up. That said, the fix is trivial and after that it was smooth sailing

I didn't play on windows so I'm not sure if the performance was any different. The game did run slower than I'd expect but it could just be like that regardless
At this stage game is unplayable as it complains that it needs newer drivers (I am on 515.65.01).
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
It's suppossed to be deck compatible so I would expect that once new drivers are available it should run, windows users who haven't updated their drivers are running into the same issue.
While the performance loss is large the game is definatly playable. Personally I will be playing on windows until performance can improve
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Performance is significantly worse than windows. I average 40fps on linux vs 70fps on windows. On my hardware it's the difference between the game feeling smooth and fluid vs choppy.
I also experienced crashed on windows, maybe slightly more frequent on linux though.
Playable but compromised experience

-Fullscreen and borderless window caused severe stutter -Changing virtual desktop (gnome) crashes the game in any configuration
Works great in wayland! Forced vsync isn't an issue as the game has latency calibration
gamemoderun mangohud "DXVK_FRAME_RATE"="144" gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f -r 144 %command%
Fullscreen or windowed fullscreen causes stutter that makes the game unplayable
I fixed this by running it with gamescope with -f. This made the game appear fullscreen with no stutter. Any latency introduced by running the game inside of gamescope can be mitigated by running the in game latency config.
I also included "DXVK_FRAME_RATE"="144" to limit the game framerate to my monitors refresh rate, since when you disable vsync in game it completely uncaps the framerate.
Stuck at EA launcher, I can not bypass this screen for the life of me
Tried many versions of proton including proton GE, tried launching the DRM free EXE
No matter what I do, even launching the "drm free" exe, I always get stuck on a blank screen that I can only assume is the EA launcher. Mangohud shows it's updating maybe once every 30 seconds but nothing ever happens. Killing this window kills the entire game.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
On first install I could not get the EA launcher to work, launching the game would open a grey window which would hang indefinatly. I think what happened is that the first time I launched the game, I cancelled the install because I needed to log into an X11 session. This possibly broke the EA launcher so that when I tried to launch the game nothing happened. After trying to get the game to work through the DRM free exe (only works if you don't have the EA launcher installed at all) and failing I gave up and played on windows. I later completely reinstalled the game on linux, which meant EA launcher was reinstalled and the game just worked. I probably could have solved this without reinstalling by deleting EA launcher from the game files and doing "verify file integrity" within steam.
I think my experience with the game was an unfortunate outlier rather than the typical experience. If I hadn';t interruptted the initial install of EA launch the game probably would have worked fine OOTB.

Game launches but does not run in a wayland session. You can get to the initial menu if you ignore the "program is not responding" warnings but the game never loads.
Tinker report because some users will try to play in wayland. I also tried running it in proton 7.0-4 where the game failed to launch whatsoever. I did not investigate further as the native version worked perfectly for me in an X11 session.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
No issues related to linux, the game has bugs that exist on windows and xbox as well
Runs exactly the same as on windows, maybe slightly better due to having the OS eat up less system resources
Playable but not perfect. As a long time linux player the issues are annoying but passable.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
If I exit from a session to the menu, then load into a new session I experience textures not loading properly (extremly low res), if I rejoin the same session they are fine. While mostly a visual bug this can affect gameplay as it makes the compass impossible to read and worst of all makes item images not load in barrels or your inventory, this makes selecting items difficult. The issue can be fixed by exiting to desktop and relaunching the game.
I seem to crash out of the game more often than my friends playing on windows, that said, with the current state of SoT crashes are not uncommon on windows either.
Sea of Thieves suffers from poor online performance on all versions of the game however my experience running through proton has been identical to windows in this regard.
Unfortunatly the experience is not flawless. The issues relating to more frequent crashing and textures not loading properly mean I frequently have to reload the game during sessions. This is annoying at the best of times and extremely frustrating if it occurs during PvP. I think the experience is acceptable for a casual player but can put you at a slight disadvantage competitively. For myself it is acceptable, linux is my main OS and I'd rather not reboot into windows to play my favorite game, therefore I'm willing to live with the mentioned issues. That said, I think the game deserves a silver rating (rather than gold). The game is playable but the experience is objectivly worse than windows and that should be reflected in the rating.

Could not connect to jackbox servers running the native linux version. Going into the compatibility menu and enabling steam linux runtime resolves this. Your milage may vary depending on your distro. If that doesn't work just use proton
Works fine under proton or the steam linux runtime. Did not work purely natively on my distro.
Flawless experience in proton 7.0-4, Native launched but couldn't connect to servers.

For some reason I experience massive stuttering that can be temperarily fixed by changing v-sync options only for it to come back about 5 minutes later. The game is unplayable with the sutters and fiddling with the v-sync settings every time it starts stuttering is frustrating
Stutter seems to be caused by v-sync but turning it off only provides temporary relief as 5 minutes later it will be back and can only be fixed by turning v-sync on. THIS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY and is extremely annoying.
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
I get frame stutter whenever I use my extra mouse buttons (G502 lightspeed running in onboard profile mode, the side buttons have been bound to ctrl and shift from G-HUB in windows) Once I realised this was the cause of the stutter I just stopped using them and everything was fine.
While I like to use my mouse for common keybind in game (ctrl and shift) I can't do it here because it causes stutter for some reason. If you can deal with using the keyboard controls it's a good experience.

Missing reflections (see fix below)
When running on KDE Plasma wayland, with a G-Sync monitor and an AMD GPU in a multimonitor configuration the game was not able to properly enter fullscreen. This seems to cause some other issues such as stutter, flickering, and missing reflections. It also prevented features such as v-sync, dynamic resolution scaling, and TAA from working.
The fix for this (in my situation) was to fully disable my second monitor in the KDE settings. This allows the game to launch in fullscreen and resolves the issues listen above.
stutter (see fix below)
While the game is technically playable in windowed fullscreen (I played like this for over 100 hours before finding a fix) I would not reccomend it. While many of the issues were ignorable, the stuttering and flickering was unbareable in such a competitive game. Once I was able to get the game into exclusive fullscreen however, the experience became fantastic.
While it's not ideal to have to disable my second monitor just to play this game, it's more convenient to me than rebooting into windows.
To get openplanet working:
Add "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%" to your steam launch options.
Head to https://openplanet.dev/ and download the installer.
Find where the open planet installer downloaded to
Right click on it > open with > protontricks
Select trackmania
Now you need to select your trackmania folder. The easiest way to find this is to open steam > right click on Trackmania > manage > browse local files. The folder it opens is where you need to point the open planet installer to
The installer should now install openplanet, from here you can follow any other guide to setup and use openplanet.
When openplanet needs to update, you will get a popup when you launch the game. When this happens, follow the installer instructions and give it your Trackmania folder again.

Due to being a DX12 game unfortuatly VK3D performance on Nvidia 10 series GPUs is lacking. (this is Nvidia's fault) On a 1070 at least the game is still playable with an inconsistent 80fps average on medium settings.
For most users the performance should be fine
Shows a loading popup then crashes
Tried using protontricks to install ubiconnect. I was able to install ubiconnect but the game still did not launch
I tried some of the fixes on here like installing Ubi Connect through protontricks and installing it through lutris, neither seemed to have any effect. I could have tried installing the game through lutris but I need steam remote play together as my friends don't own the game.
Game would crash on launch in wayland, zero issues in x11.
Game does not work at all in wayland
Steam remote play works a treat
Works as expected
I made this a tinker report because some users may try to play the game in wayland where I could not get it to boot, that said, for the vast majority of users still using solely X11 the native game works flawlessly. I could not get the game to launch in proton despite the Epic Games version working flawlessly in lutris through WINE in both wayland and X11 sessions.
Hopefully the devs will patch the native version to have wayland support as more mainstream distros that beginners are likely to use (e.g. Ubuntu) are shipping with Wayland as default and begginners are unlikely to even know what a display server is. Wayland support would make the steam version flawless out-of-the-box.

fullscreen bugs out if you alt-tab out. You can fix it by tapping f11 twice to disable, then reenable fullscreen. Alternativly, you can play the game in windowed mode and make it borderless fullscreen. The fullscreen in game seems to be a type of borderless fullscreen anyway.
Mouse cursor would not dissapear. I moved to bottom right of screen and hardly noticed it.
TL;DR, force proton experimental or use public beta to get native version.
Game does not launch ootb. You'll be met with either a java error, or the game complaining that launcher.sh is missing. Some people say to rename the exe to launcher.sh, this does not work. You can also play a native linux version that is currently in beta by right clicking - properties - betas - public beta. I played a few hours in the public beta and it seemed to work well, bar fullscreen not working, and mouse cursor not hiding. It kinda bugged me that I was technically playing a beta so I switched back to the normal release through proton experimental.
I would expect that the linux version will eventually make it into the stable build and when it does just use that.
gamemoderun mangohud %command%
In native version, pausing would freeze the game.
