Would disconnect from server after 1-2 minutes
Prior to any tinkering the game would load with NO character models, unable to move in game, and disconnection within 60seconds
After the below tweaks (as listed by others), all models visible, and game playable for about 60 seconds before it disconnects again.
in the eqclient.ini change/add the following VertexShaders=FALSE CPUAffinity0=-1 CPUAffinity1=-1 CPUAffinity2=-1 CPUAffinity3=-1 CPUAffinity4=-1 CPUAffinity5=-1 CPUAffinity6=-1 CPUAffinity7=-1
Not sure if the CPU changes was needed or not. by default my .ini only had CPUAffinity0=1 in it (And it didnt work any better leaving it as it was)
Overall works well, no major issues thus far. I do get the sense that it pushes the hardware which may not be the windows experience?
Generally runs between 30-60fps. On one occasion so far it was stuck at 15fps while in HUD/non mission scenario
Worked out of the box with Proton 5.13
Works fine in fullscreen, windowed mode didnt allow me to move the window and as a consequence the bottom and left sides were cropped off my screen.
Other than the minimized on launch issue, I've had zero issues with this game
Slow to load, seems to load in background requires me to re-minimise steam, and select the game window a couple times to bring to foreground
Wont start
native gives error: Copatibility tool failed. Proton 9.0-2 or Experimental: error Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime
Consistently crashes to desktop after 5-10min
Tried with Proton 5.0-9 and 5.9-GE-8-ST same results
I am however running on a laptop, and although temps oscilated between 75-95, they did spike to 100, so unsure if the crash is CPU safeguard based or just due to not running on linux (note runs fine in Win10 on same laptop)
