Crash when trying borderless window mode. Worked only in fullscreen.
Cloud saves from previous playthroughs on Windows were missing.
Drops to 1 FPS after about 5-10 minutes and becomes unplayable.
Crashes and won't start a new game if you don't disable the intro cinematic.
Not sure what's causing the slowdown, it acts like a memory leak, but i haven't been able to find a way around it, so the game is sadly unplayable.
some sounds are delayed or not played at the correct volume
game runs with Proton 7.0-2 with 80fps (instead of 30-40 with Proton 6.8). so it runs twice as fast as with latest Version. But after some time the fps drop to 10 and make it unplayable
- runs okay with Proton 6.8 on a SteamDeck (25-40fps), Proton 7 is much faster (60-80fps). but after some time the fps drop to 10-15 and make it unplayable.
- there are minor sound glitches. but game is playable (w/ Proton 6.8)
- you can deactivate the intro in the game's launcher (which you should do)
makes fun after all
Played GOG version with Proton 5.13-6.
RUN WELL ON LINUX
Only audio for intro video
Works out of box. No performance or sound problems.
One times it did load suddenly the last saved game while playing
There is an option in start dialog to skip intro video which I selected. No other issues. Ran game at 2K on Intel UHD630
Runs out-of-the-box
Intro videos don't play well.
using proton 4.11-13 it starts up and loads into the game more often than not and runs without crashes from then on.
i noticed only one annoying thing: playing @ 1080p on an i7 4790 the game would freeze for a second every couple of minutes (often with sound glitches like NPCs repeating a line over and over repeating a line over and over repeating a line over and over) but then continue to run normally until the next one-second-freeze.
the game also had similar performance issues @720p on an athlon 200GE
not sure if this is related to running the game on linux tho, as the game does EVERYTHING on the CPU and thus is very taxing at high res even for modern 4 GHz multi core CPUs ... i just don't have windows installed on any of the two machines so i can't compare if the game would behave differently without proton.
Won't start. Renaming file to Outcast 1.1.exe got it to briefly load, but then complains about a missing config.ini and tells you to delete config.ini...which doesn't exist (huh?) and run the launcher again. Repeat endlessly.
Failed to launch properly, copied config.ini from NTFS drive, and renamed OC1.1 to Outcast 1.1; it launched but wouln't load save games nor would the game properly close.
Won't start.
Starts fine if you rename "OC1.1.exe" to "Outcast 1.1.exe". Configure options in "userdata/config.ini". To exit outcast: killall -9 'Outcast 1.1.exe'
.
Does not want to start
Won't start at all.
First run dies on DotNet 4 installation
Game won´t start in either default or 3.7-4 beta Proton
