Out-of-the-box Native experience
Works flawlessly
New native remaster version is great.
The remaster update in October 2023 brought a new native version for Linux, and it plays really well. Just download and play, nothing to configure.
-height 800
Open META-INF/AIR/application.xml Edit /application/initialWindow/resizable to be 'true'
assigned the left stick to be arrow keys. changed A and B to be 'c' and 'x'
Changed Steam Input layout to "Brock Sampson's Anodyne Jazz hands"
The Windows version of the game runs very well - I did not encounter any issues.
Note that the Linux native version of this game will not run due to Adobe AIR dependencies, so instead you have to force it to use Steam Play.
Played perfectly from start to finish.
Native version doesn't work. Works perfectly with proton, but only on xorg, computer pretty much freezes when launching it on wayland. (Gnome)
Native Linux version might not work on recent distributions, as it requires installing unsupported Adobe AIR library. Forcing use of Steam Play compatibility tool works great. Even Xbox360 controller works.
Run great with steamplay, the native version is very old. Sometimes some sound glitches but nothing that affects the game
Game asks to install Adobe AIR. Fails since it won't accept admin credentials
Upon (attempting to) start, it wants to install Adobe air. That fails because it doesn't accept an administrator password for clearance...
