Works very well with only one setting to change
Greatly reduced mouse sensitivity
Must select "vulkan" as the API or severe framerate issues occur in large spaces
Runs exceptionally well, but requires one change: you should definitely select "Vulkan" instead of "OpenGL" as the API. If you leave the default OpenGL setting, the framerate grinds down to the high teens in open spaces. Selecting Vulkan and restarting the game fixes this to a nearly-locked 60fps (extreme amounts of gibs can cause very small dips).
Switched Proton versions
Tested Proton versions: 8.0-3, Experimental, GE-Proton8-9
Works great on all tested Proton versions. Recommend switching to Vulkan (thru Video settings) for best performance.
Perfect play experience.
I had to diminish the mouse sensitivity, raise the gamma correction, and switch to the Vulkan renderer, but all of these are perfectly normal in-game options. Going on map 2 without any issues so far.
Some stutter on occasion, think fixed after switching from opengl to vulkan. Heard it also happens on windows.
A shame they don't release a native build, being gzdoom, but runs well.
