Running the game through Proton works very well.
Mods from Steam workshop work, my Logitech G29 + Shifter also works perfectly fine.
The game is generally completely playable on Linux. Had to switch to Proton 5.13-6 otherwise the game wouldn't load into main menu at all.
Added -dx10 as the launch flag as the game was stuttering and lagging pretty bad.
The -dx10 launch flag is optional, but suggested as the game runs way better using dx10. I got a huge performance boost with using the flag.
Game works very well through Proton. Did not run the game native because of the suggestions.
My Logitech G29 + shifter work perfectly. Using truckersmp might be tricky as it requires you to use truckersmp-cli and DLC-s might not appear.
Game works very well on Proton 6.3, experienced no issues. The fps is more stable on Linux than Windows.
Game works perfectly out of the box. I installed MSCLoader to load mods in and most of what I've installed work as on Windows.
Still borked.

Runs very well on Linux, I'd even go as far and say that it runs better on Linux than Windows.
My FPS was constantly around 80+ with max settings selected on boot, on Windows I struggled to get 90+ FPS low settings.
After some tweaking around (should be listed below) I got the game working without any stuttering or bugs.
Not sure if it did anything, but after this I was able to get Origin working.
Because of Origin it doesn't detect my DualShock 4 also Steam overlay was replaced by Origin's one.
Some other Proton versions didn't do the trick for me, but Proton experimental works as it should. I suggest everyone to turn off Origin's auto-updating option when installing. Origin might update and break your game install.
Game itself works, had some issues running the game with latest Proton, but downgrading to older Proton fixed everything.
Added launch flags: PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%, enabled VSync and changed to 60fps locked. Had to change some settings in graphics.ini file located in the game install directory. SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/638970/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/Sega/Yakuza0/graphics.ini
The settings changed were: setting resolution to 1600x900, enabled vsync, locked fps to 60. Before doing this my game would play fine until the karaoke scene, when getting to saving the game in a phonebooth after it the game would freeze and crash eventually. This fixed it for me.
Changed some settings listed before.
I had to change it to windowed borderless to be able to Alt-Tab efficiently
