either play on proton 6.3-8 all the way through (not tested for me) or just change it for that one cutscreen before chapter 8.
of the top of my head i would say i set the tdp to 10W, but cannot fully remember.
the video starting chapter 8 crashes on this proton version, i had to change to proton 6.3-8 to see it, and then a video on a screen was missing, but after this cutscreen i could return to the ge version for the remainder of the game.
works excellent on the steam deck, some of the training missions has some framedrops, but i think that was only becuase of my forced tdp, so could maybe be optimized. Lovely little title.
THIS GAME WORKS BEST WITH PROTON 6.3-8 AS WHEN I USED GE-7-28 HAD A CRASH OR TWO BUT IF YOU LIMIT TO 30 FPS EASY 4 HOURS OF BATTERY
30 FPS lock to save performance and 60 FPS for a smooth experience
WITH 60 FPS I DID GET A SLOW DOWN SOMETIMES TO AROUND 47-53 FPS MAINLY IN THE MAIN HUB AND WHEN A LOT WAS ON SCREEN BUT WITH 30 FPS LOCK DIDNT EXPERIENCE ANY SLOWDOWN
WHEN I USED ONE OF THE LATEST GE-PROTON7-28 I DID GET A FATAL ERROR CRASH BUT ONLY HAPPENED TWICE BUT WHEN I SWITCHED TO PRORON 6.3-8 DIDNT EXPERINCE A SINGLE CRASH AFTER THAT
Game freezed on Start-up I used the most recent version of Proton-GE to fix that issue
You can run in windowed mode 1066x666 with FSR ON and it looks great and saves a little bit of wattage.
Game runs and looks great, but required me to revert to an older version of Proton due to locking up on startup with both the current version and the experimental branch.
Except one tiny thing (videos on the TV screens in-game), runs flawlessly.
In the main hub area (city), there are TVs on some buildings that display videos. You can probably use proton-ge-custom to get the videos working, as I suspect they are .wmv files or what have you... but they are such a minuscule detail that you probably won't even notice.
The experience of installing and playing the game was pretty straight forward. Just install and play.
The videos that are supposed to play on the big screens in the city do not play. That was the only graphical difference I noticed.
