Copied patch to game folder, works perfectly with no tinkering.
Works well with default proton. Default controller layout is perfect. Move the patcher to the game directory and use protontricks to install

Slight lag/stutter during initial play, although calmed down after, likely shaders
The only tinkering required is to change the installation location of the game files from the Steam(Deck) defaults to either an external storage or a new installation location at the /home location (create via Steam Setup). Then the game works without problems. Even the JAST Patch can be installed from the new installation location.
Change to Window FS Mode to have the full screen applied on the Deck

A different window runs commands and fails to complete. Not sure about the issue as others claim it worked for them.
I'll be testing running different proton options when I get a chance, but the game doesn't run at all for me with the Steam defaults.
After initial start up, I get an error when the game gets to the audio section. Something about "Wave" - The rest is in Japanese (Wave codec im guessing?). After that the game says "cant open file" along with a TC01-1.05-40047-105[40000101] Error.
I've tried using protontricks, as well as different proton versions to no avail. I'm not sure how others have got this working right out of the box with no tweaking. (ive tried that as well)
Fullscreen Windowed mode was cutoff when it asked for input for your name.
If you use the JAST patch exe, I had to copy it to the game folder and run the following command (paths will differ for you): STEAM_COMPAT_CLIENT_INSTALL_PATH=~/.steam STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH=/data/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/691770 WINEPREFIX=/data/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/691770/pfx ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 6.3/proton run /data/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Eiyu\ Senki/eiyu-senki-steam-dlc-patch-1.02.exe
Works flawlessly out of the box as far as I can tell. Tested gameplay (story, map, battles) & gallery from my old savefiles. Official adult patch works as well and can be installed using wine. I didn't play for too long, so there might be bugs further along.
