Just got done with a full playthrough and had zero issues
At the time of writing this report newer versions of Proton have been released but when I played the game Proton 9.0-3 was the latest. I played the entire game on Linux and I had no problems.
Had to manually set C for Quick Save and Z for running.
Won't close properly from the Main Menu, you have to force quit.
Works flawlessly.
Run OOTB
Game still running after closing the game. Stopping from Steam doesn't work and must be killed manually.
P.S. I just noticed all games i've played with such bug use WOLF RPG Editor.

Works Great. No Fullscreen
Fullscreen was very broken. both f4 and f11 failed to properly scale.
Works flawlessly with Proton 4.11
UnknownError on startup: "Failed to start-up. Game.exe may be already running If you cannot find it on your Taskbar Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to end process from Task Manager." Also, Configuration start-up, but it can't recognize any letters (Japanese font problem maybe?).
