Bad performance
Very low frame rates on any graphical settings.
It launches and "works" out of the box, but the frame rate is as low as 17-22FPS on any graphical setting, which make it very uncomfortable to play. Not sure how it fairs on NVIDIA GPU's. Your mileage my vary.
Works out of the box but with a performance hit
There is a noticeable worse fps with Proton
Works perfectly except with a big approximately 30% performance hit, 35-50fps at 2560x1600 resolution. Oddly the game runs at seemingly same performance regardless of quality settings or resolution, so might as well set everything on Ultra. All the previous problems with text missing and mouse drifting/jumping have been fixed.
Unknown(an hour with Proton)Mouse glitches to bottom right (similar to 'The Forest', seems to be a Unity wide problem). Some crucial texts are missing (all items in the trader store for example are invisible) which makes the game basically unplayable: https://imgur.com/a/BjBCJ19. ~ 20-30% performance impact compared to Windows 10.

UnknownRequires Steam launch option "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" to run. Game is playable but loading/introduction screen is black, if you just wait for the game to load and then click left mouse button you get into the game. Game is still in early access, but have not experienced this problem in Windows.
