Ubisoft launcher update is needed to play. This can be done with protontricks (see below)
Go to the "Install an application" menu, pick the ubisoftconnect package from the list, follow setup instructions, log in, close and exit the app
Limit TDP to 6w, otherwise CPU boosts heavily
Uplay updates 5 times in a row and then crashes the Deck with a libcef.dll error upon first boot. Subsequent game launches are without issue
Tokens are solid black squares, and the glow FX surrounding Garage entry icons are solid black as well
Would recommend setting aside 30 mins or so depending on your internet to wait for Uplay to install updates. After said updates, you will get a libcef.dll error, and a hard crash, but subsequent game launches are without major issue.
--ONLINE AND UPLAY INTEGRATION DO NOT WORK--
Game Installs and UPlay Updates before giving an error: "The Procedure Entry Point: CEF _browser _create _sync could not be located in the dynamic link library libcef.dll"
Then game FAILS to launch, but WILL launch if you try again after this point, but without "online functionality" due to a Ubisoft Sync Error
Game needs to be launched twice after install, but seems to work after
Just fails to start, possibly an issue with the key. Also note that it is borked on windows and only runs with a crack.
Tested it with 6.3-6. Works great. You may need to stop the game manually after exiting.

The game's speed fluctuates too much to be playable. It seems like it could run well on Proton, but not in the currently available versions.
The in-game speed seems to fluctuate between running too fast to too slow, making it unplayable.
The FMV cutscenes do not play correctly.

Can't get passed steam's product key request
Seems like the linux version of steam doesnt support the older games that run off of the steam/uplay link thing

Failed to request product key from Steam, please try again in few minutes
As others have said, this appears to be a steam issue. I could run this on windows when last checked.

Doesn't even start
I think this is not a Proton problem: "Failed to request product key from Steam, please try again in a few minutes."

Error: "Failed to request product key from Steam, please try again in few minutes"

Unable to test as Steam got stuck on "allocating disk space" both times installation was attempted. Somehow took out my internet connection in both cases
