Using the PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 launch option I was able to get the intro movie to play (I was able to get X3: Reunion to work with that option as well), but the main screen always freezes.

Game doesn't work for me native, but it does on Proton out of the box, you only have to skip not working videos with ESC key. I installed manually D9VK and it worked with this DX9 to Vulkan translation.
