Native version works just fine

Works perfectly out-of-the-box

Flickering Interface
Flickering resolved when switching to x11 from Wayland.

To launch the GOG version from Heroic, download the Linux version and then in Heroic settings of the game check "Use Steam Runtime".
Need to hold the menu "..." button on your Steam Deck for three-four seconds to turn on desktop / mouse mode so you can control the game without holding the "steam" button all the time.
Tried the Windows version and could not get it to run no matter the Wine / Proton version nor with the disabling the Steam overlay fix. Used the Linux version and still could not boot until I enabled "Use Steam Runtime" In the "Advanced" tab specific game settings of Heroic for Baldur's Gate II EE. Will update as necessary but it is the native Linux version so it should be fine in terms of bugs / issues. My default Wine version is "Wine - Wine-GE-Proton8-13" if that matters. When booted from game mode in Steam OS you need to hold the "..." button on the front of your Steam Deck for a couple of seconds to enable "desktop / mouse" mode. Otherwise you can't control the right trackpad / do anything without holding the Steam button at all times to use the controls. You can now enjoy the game. If you hit the Steam button to look at something you may have to hold the menu / "..." button again when you're back in the game but perfect otherwise.

The game crashed at start. I solved the issue by unchecking steam overlay option: Right click on the game in the library -> Properties -> General -> uncheck "Enable the Steam overlay while in game"
Works perfectly after a configuration trick

It works flawlessly, but the newest version of Proton does not work with it. You HAVE to downgrade to at least Proton 6.3-8 in order to launch the game.

Starts up fine, runs well once in game and with the controller setup I mentioned before, it controls fairly well on the Steamdeck to!
I used a community control setup called "Simple BG2 Steam Deck Layout", was the best of the ones I tried
Runs fine, starts up fine and the controls are pretty decent with one of the communities layouts. Worth playing on the Steamdeck if you enjoy Baldurs Gate
Worked like a charm - no issues

Didn't run into any issues
