Black screen with cursor and music right after launch, main menu unreachable
I've experienced the same "black screen with cursor and sounds" issue some of the folks have reported here. After trying a bunch of proton versions and flags, PROTON_NO_D3D11 has seemingly done the trick.
The main menu is unreachable
The game launches to a black screen with only a cursor visible, ambient sound can be heard in the background but the game won’t progress past this.
Sometimes it starts to a black screen, with only the (custom) mouse pointer visible. When it starts to a normal, colourful screen, the game seems to behave just fine from then on. I've not yet tracked down what causes it to start wrongly.
Sometimes mousing over the other traders in the minimap bottom left of the screen causes the XFCE menubar to pop up.
the game takes a few seconds to render the title screen. at first it just shows colored rectangles for the buttons. if it takes too long to render, the orange rectangle is the new game button. Once in the game everything works fine including returning to the title screen.
at the time of writing i have only really played the demo. but i just bought the game and tested that it could start and play the tute
