I haven't tried online, since I wasn't interested on it, hoever i played the entire game without any issue. My only complain is the framedrops during loading screens, but those also happens on my Windows PC, so I believe it's due to the DRM Denuvo.

Roda como se fosse nativo.
Sem nenhum ajuste como deve ser.

After beating each stage; the game would hitch for a moment while loading the act clear info; unsure what casues this.

Works right outta the box
I haven't tested any online features, so I can't comment on those. But once I installed it, it was like a blast from the past, of the good old days playing Sonic on the Mega Drive, but with graphics that are impressively better.

Didn't try online, I just wasn't interested in it. There wasn't any Epic Games popup, so that's good. With that gone it should be a verified game to me

The Online Battle Mode doesn't work.
Sonic Superstars runs properly in both singleplayer and local co-op modes. Sometimes the game wouldn't launch after starting it. To fix this, I used the 'ps' command to search for the Epic services, and manually killed it. The game launched after doing this. The online Battle Mode doesn't work, most likely because of Epic Online Services.

EGS causes issues as always, but works fine on second boot and beyond. Just make sure to quit out on the initial black screen after linking.
EGS will cause it to fail to boot on first install. Launches fine on successive attempts.

After signing in with epic for the first time the game doesn't open up, I had to close it and open it again.
the game didn't start the first time after it asks you to sign in with epic, every attempt after was okay though

First launch takes a long time while EGS services install. If EGS is linked to steam there should be no popup window, though I'm not sure what happens if it isn't. Graphics settings are also saved along with the save game, though this game has few options to change. Ran at a locked 60fps max settings no tinkering required with stutter only showing up on loading screens.
Lastly, the duplicate audio bug is an issue with the pc port as a whole, and happens on windows as well.

Epic Games + Denuvo. Need I say more?
This game relies on Epic Games to start. They have been notoriously reluctant to make anything work on Linux. As such, even with Steam's now excellent Proton and related tools, the game cannot correctly launch. On top of this, even if you could launch it, SEGA has once again decided to shove Denuvo Antitamper where it doesn't belong, and so the game would probably be nearly unplayable even without the reliance on Epic Games. So close to greatness, yet they screwed it up again.

Epic Games Services cannot open its window with SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland (but the game can run with it after the first initial setup), this also disables the online mode as it depends on Epic Online Services.
Also, on the first initial setup where you need to link your EGS account to steam for login, a window will pop up and you will not be able to click the screen with your mouse or the touchscreen on steam deck. On linux PC use the TAB button to select the menu buttons, on the Steam Deck, hold down the Steam button and use the trackpad to bring up a cursor to select on the menu
Any soul on wayland please do not set SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland as your environment variable. It breaks Online Battle mode
It downloads some Epic Games library files and then loads to a black screen. Also tried 8.0-4 but the game doesn't even launch then.

Borked, most likely due to Epic Online Services
Nice going guys.

Ran just as smooth as it does on my PC, all on max settings. Only issue is some noticeable stutter on loads and transitions.
The Epic online services menu made me restart the game twice before it would let me get past
Audio got bugged at one point, started playing the same track overlapping three times, might just be a classic Sonic PC Port moment though

Works fine so far with no major hiccups. I haven't tried online but since it requires Epic I probably won't.
Antialiasing doesn't seem to work. This might be a Unity quirk since the Klonoa collection (which runs on the same engine) also had similar issues.
The game WILL install Epic Online Services into its prefix. This is used for the online multiplayer component. Upon starting the game, a prompt will appear asking you to log into your Epic Games account. You can close this prompt and continue as normal, but it will appear every time the game is started. Since Sonic modders have no restraint, I'll update this report when they manage to remove the EGS login screen.
