After the second boot, I had to Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool in Properties -> Compatibility as it wouldn't launch otherwise.
In the first playthrough, the intro video played successfully, but in successive ones, it would just hang.
Video playback can be skipped by going into Config, and setting Movie playback, the last listed setting, to off.
